Avalon Dance and Fitness was originally founded in 2010. Current owner Peter Walker took over in October 2014 and has created a thriving dance community here in Belmont.
Avalon which rebranded to Avalon Dance Productions in 2019 offers private ballroom dance lessons for all levels from wedding couples first dance, social dancing and competitive level dancing from amateur to professional.
Located at 173 Belmont St, Belmont it’s accessible by train into Waverley or the 173 bus that goes to and from Harvard. Avalon also has designated parking spaces and ample street parking.

Avalon SPRING Showcase
If you're a fan of “Dancing with the Stars” the Avalon Dance Productions spring showcase is a must see experience.
Performed on the beautiful dance floor of the Sanctuary, the show will feature a variety of ballroom styles from the cha-cha and swing to the tango and quickstep. The theme is “Broadway.”
Avalon will be featuring its own student body and performers from other studios. Among these accomplished dancers are individuals who excel both at local and national levels of competition. Music will be played live by Brent Mills featuring former back up singer to Prince, Elisa Fiorillo.

John De Palma
is certified as a Fellow in International Ballroom, International Latin, American Ballroom, American Rhythm and Theater Arts with the United States Terpsichore Association (USTA) and is also a Championship Adjudicator.
He is currently teaching Pro-Am students, coaching Amateur and Professional couples, and judging competitions across the US.

Rufus Dustin will be coaching on Thursday April 10th and Friday April 11th.
Rufus Dustin
Rufus Dustin, a World Dance Council (WDC) professional, provides coaching and choreography for some of the best Professional and Amateur competitive dancers in the world. He routinely acts as an adjudicator at some of the most prestigious dance competitions around the globe. Rufus has been certified as an adjudicator by the National Dance Council of America (NDCA), the World Dance Council (WDC), and Fred Astaire Dance Studios Inc. in International Style Standard, International Style Latin, American Smooth, American Rhythm, and Theater Arts.
As a Professional dancer, Rufus competed nationally and internationally, attaining titles in International Latin, American Rhythm and Theater Arts. He has performed all over the world, including special presentations at the Blackpool Dance Festival.

US Hall of Famer Marianne's titles include: United States Hall of Famer, United States Rising Star American Style Champion, Undefeated United States Theater Arts Champion, Undefeated Fred Astaire Theatrical Champion, Undefeated Fred Astaire International Latin Champion, World Latin Representative. She is a World Class Adjudicator & Coach, and Co Organizer of the Capitol Dancesport Championships.
